Birmingham New Street the only station outside London in UK’s busiest top ten list

ANALYSIS from the Office of Road and Rail has revealed that Birmingham’s New Street Station is the eighth busiest on the country with more than 35m passengers in a year.
It is the only station outside London to make the top ten in the ‘top of the stops’ chart.
London Waterloo remains the most used station in Britain clocking over 99m entries and exits last year.
The report for estimates of station usage across Britain for the period April 2014 – March 2015 shows that New Street chalked up 35,312,788 entries and exits, a 1.6% increase on 2013/14’s 34,748,984 figure.
There has only been one change to the list of top ten stations most used stations this year. Stratford Station in East London entered the list with more than 30m passenger entries and exits.
