Lloyds strengthens Trade and Working Capital team

LLOYDS Bank has strengthened its growing Trade and Working Capital team in the Midlands with a new appointment.

The bank has recruited Kelly Henney as director, business development, to bolster its Asset Based Lending offering to mid-market firms in the region.

Ms Henney joins the bank’s Global Transaction Banking division after 16 years at RBS, where she originated and completed new business opportunities and helped SMEs across the Midlands drive efficiencies and optimise their operations.
 
Based at the bank’s flagship office on Colmore Row in Birmingham, she will be working closely with colleagues Ian Bath, Sam Owen and David Squibb to provide funding solutions to new and existing clients with annual turnovers in excess of £25m.
 
Ms Henney joins a 20-strong trade and working capital team, which is led by regional head Mark Parsons.

He said: “Kelly understands the Midlands marketplace and the type of product solutions that businesses need to accelerate their domestic and international growth. She complements our team well and her appointment is part of our on-going strategy to strengthen the support and experience we can offer clients, which has seen the team grow by a third since the beginning of the year.”
 
Ms Henney said: “Using asset based finance to unlock working capital is a flexible, speedy solution that can help businesses expand into new markets, and I am looking forward to working with the region’s ambitious mid-market firms to help accelerate their growth strategies.”

JW Hinks secures new appointment from KPMG

INDEPENDENT chartered accountancy firm JW Hinks has appointed a new assistant manager, as it continues to expand its service provision.
 
Sam Edwards joins the firm from KPMG, where he acted as an Assistant Audit Manager.
 
Edwards has more than six years in the profession and is AAT and ACCA qualified. He has worked with a wide range of clients including FTSE 100 enterprises.

Manufacturing specialist joins Baldwins

Chris Briggs, associate director of banking and finance, BaldwinsBALDWINS Accountants has strengthened its banking and finance team with the appointment of Chris Briggs as associate director of banking and finance.

Briggs (left) has wide experience in the financial sector and will work alongside Martyn Shakespear, who heads up the banking and finance team.

The 45-year-old has joined Baldwins after specialising in the manufacturing sector for Lloyds Bank for the last six years. Briggs worked with clients from within the manufacturing supply chain not only on finance but also on production techniques and processes and this year, he gained accreditation for the Manufacturing Awareness programme run by the Warwick Manufacturing Group.

Previously, Briggs was part of the Business Link team based in the Black Country and was the Midlands’ senior manager for succession planning for Advantage West Midlands.

He also has experience of dealing with businesses while he was project manager for the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.
