Guest house business expands after six-figure funding deal

A WORCESTER guest house business has expanded after its owners secured a new funding deal.
Abbeydore Guest House has purchased Knights Rest Guest House with the help of a £610,000 financial package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
The deal has created three new jobs and seen the business double its capacity.
Knights Rest Guest House is situated next door to the Abbeydore property in Barbourne Road.
Following the acquisition, Abbeydore now has 20 guest rooms available each night, and owners Rumandeep Sandhu and Gurpreet Sandhu are now exploring further opportunities for growth.
Rumandeep Sandhu, director of Abbeydore Guest House, said: “After running Abbeydore Guest House successfully for almost 10 years, we felt the time was right to expand, and when the neighbouring business was placed up for sale, it was an opportunity we knew we couldn’t turn down.
“The help of Lloyds Bank has been absolutely invaluable throughout this process, and we look forward to working with the team as we move forward with our growth ambitions, and welcome new visitors to both properties.”
Indi Malhi, business manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “The availability of a neighbouring property offered Abbeydore Guest House a rare opportunity to expand on the site where it has achieved so much success since 2006, and we’re pleased to have supported its ambitions by providing this financial package.
“We wish Rumandeep and Gurpreet the very best as they move forward with their expanded business.”
