Bruntwood reveals new name for Two Cornwall Street

COMMERCIAL property developer, Bruntwood, has announced the names of its new development in Birmingham.

Two Cornwall Street, former home of KPMG, will be called Cornerblock and when complete later this year, will provide 110,000 sq ft of Grade A workspace in the heart of the Colmore Business District.

The new-look building has been redesigned by Birmingham’s award-winning Glenn Howells Architects and in addition to office space, the building will feature bike storage, showers, a gym and ample parking.

Rob Valentine, head of sales and asset management at Bruntwood in Birmingham, said: “The workplace is changing and we see this reflected in the wants and needs of our customers. Increasingly business owners are seeking a workspace that gives them flexibility and helps them to develop a strong culture which encourages collaboration, creativity and a sense of belonging within their workforce.

“With this in mind we specifically designed the building around our corner blocks of connectivity, wellbeing, flexibility and opportunity. Given that we’re reinventing the building we felt that the name needed a revamp too, and it was apt to choose Cornerblock.”

Cornerblock is situated on the corner of Cornwall Street and Livery Street, a short distance from Snow Hill train station, Hotel du Vin and Colmore Row.

Bruntwood owns and manages more than 140 properties in four UK cities – including the revamped Centre City on Hill Street, Mclaren on Queensway, and the Grade II-listed Cornwall Buildings on Newhall Street in Birmingham – but the redevelopment of Two Cornwall Street is the largest, most significant project in its 40-year history.
