Golf event gives travel firm a taste of the Blues
A SOLIHULL travel firm is teeing up for a case of the Blues after securing a new contract.
Everywhere Travel has been signed up to arrange Birmingham City FC’s annual golf event in Spain – which will involve 100 of the club’s top corporate clients.
Held at the luxurious La Quinta Golf & Country Club in Marbella, the three-day event on Sunday (March 20) is the firm’s biggest to date and will also double as a break for the club before its players and backroom staff embark on a late push for the Championship play-offs.
The contract comes after Everywhere Travel’s appointment as official travel provider for the Blues this season and next. The contract sees the firm having to locate a suitable squad base for every away fixture across England and Wales, as well as the logistics that go with it.
Ian Dutton, Head of Commercial for BCFC, said: “Everywhere Travel are experts in the corporate concierge service that professional sports teams demand and have quickly proved their worth to our playing staff and business partners.”
Blues manager Gary Rowett was also supportive, adding: “They’re very thorough and proactive, with all our needs catered for at away games. It allows all the players and my staff to focus solely on the football in hand.”
Stephanie O’Reilly, managing director, Everywhere Travel, said that for the Marbella event, the firm had taken care of flights, transfers and luggage, securing five star accommodation, all food and drink including a Gala Dinner & Awards Evening, plus dedicated event managers, hire of the golf course and golf pro and all the necessary pitch hire and football training requirements.
“It’s all about the preparation and those bespoke personal touches. We leave no stone unturned – whether we’re looking after professional athletes and/or corporate VIPs,” she said.
