First office tenant secured for Wolverhampton’s i10

WATER treatment firm, Ovivo has become the first business to sign up to office space at Wolverhampton’s new i10 building.

The firm has agreed to take 11,000 sq ft of the second floor of the £10.6m city centre development, which was only completed in December.

Ovivo opted for i10 as opposed to a number of other options in Telford, Staffordshire and elsewhere in the Midlands, after deciding to relocate its UK headquarters from Wednesfield as part of expansion plans.

The company, which is part of a Canadian-owned Water Treatment Company, currently employs 70 staff locally and has plans to increase this by another 20, with City of Wolverhampton Council assisting with the recruitment process.

Ian Yewer, Human Resources Director, Global Energy Group, said: “Ovivo was looking for a building which would suit both the long term growth plans and portray the right image for the company.

“The i10 building fulfils both of these needs and we are very pleased to be moving to Wolverhampton.”

Cllr John Reynolds, cabinet member for City Economy, added: “Ovivo was looking for new UK accommodation that reflects the status of its global brand and we are delighted the company decided to choose i10.

“Not only does i10 offer the top grade office space they need – it also provides the scope for expansion as they grow as a business.

“This is great news for Wolverhampton as it keeps jobs in the city and will also see the creation of further jobs.”

The city council is also in advanced talks with a number of other businesses for the further two floors of office space, while Greene King, Superdrug and Kaspa’s Desserts have already filled four of the six retail units on the ground floor.
