Appointments: Place Partnership; Savills; Powell Williams

A LAND and property management company has created a director of property and asset management to boost its management team.

Caroline Penn-Smith has joined the senior team at Place Partnership, which was jointly established last September by six Midlands public sector organisations.

She is a chartered surveyor who has worked in a number of senior positions, including associate director of development at Savills.

Managing director Andrew Pollard said: “We are committed to delivering innovative services and solutions. Caroline’s experience in senior roles will be invaluable in helping to develop our business for the benefit of the future public estate.”

Ms Penn-Smith will work alongside Mr Pollard and his team implementing the organisation’s business plan which seeks to transform the public estate across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

She added: “Place Partnership is a great example of a forward-thinking organisation. I’m looking forward to helping to develop the opportunities that this innovative business model will provide.”

SAVILLS has promoted three staff to associate director in its Birmingham office.
 
Siobhan McCrystal, who advises private and public sector clients across mixed-use, commercial and residential property types, Ed Delaney, who provides loan security and portfolio valuation advice to national lending institutions, funds, owner-occupiers and developers, and senior facilities manager David Eden have started in their new roles this month.

Also moving up is Sam Towers who has become an associate in Savills’ 12-strong building and project consultancy team.

Barry Allen, head of Savills Birmingham, said: “The last year has been a record breaking one for the Birmingham office and the hard work of Siobhan, Ed, David and Sam has been integral to the success of their divisions and the wider business.”

BUILDING consultancy Powell Williams has appointed Jon Carey as a senior surveyor in its Birmingham  office.

Mr Carey joins from Arcadis and he has previously worked at Edmond Shipway, gaining experience in both the commercial and public sector spheres.

Michael Jones, senior partner at Powell Williams in Birmingham, said: “Jon brings with him a wealth of experience in commercial building surveying and, crucially, in project management and development monitoring which are areas of significant growth for us at the moment.”

Mr Carey added: “I was looking for a new challenge with a smaller practice that would allow me to work closely with the senior partners to develop my skills, and take on more responsibility for the delivery of each project.”
