Strewth mate, Aussie bar set for new lease of life in Wolverhampton

WOLVERHAMPTON’S former Walkabout theme bar is set for a new lease of life.

The Aussie-themed bar in Queen Street closed last year but the building has now been taken on by entrepreneur Abdul Natlib under a deal brokered by property agent agent Bond Wolfe.

The independent operator has signed a 10-year lease on the 6,810 sq ft Grade II Listed building, which is known as The Stone House.

Under the new plan, the building will remain a bar, restaurant and night club. It is currently being refurbished and ahead of a rebrand which will see the venue open in May as The Court.

Bond Wolfe managing director James Mattin said: “We are very pleased that it will be given a new lease of life. It is in a great location, bang in the centre, and, with the right appeal, should surely be well capable of becoming a popular and profitable business once more.”
