HomeServe adds to management team to support global expansion

WALSALL-BASED home maintenance provider HomeServe has added to its management team in order to provide “extra management bandwidth” as it expands its operations.
The group announced the £52m purchase of American business Utility Services Partners earlier this year and last month held recruitment events in the Black Country as it sought to fill 100 vacancies.
HomeServe’s group chief financial officer Johnathan Ford has moved to the new position of group chief operating officer, where his role will be to “provide focus and support to all of HomeServe’s businesses in order to ensure high levels of operational effectiveness across the group as it grows”. He will also take responsibility for the digital hub and for the group’s developing business in Italy.
David Bower, currently group finance director, will step up on an interim basis.
“I have never been more excited by the growth opportunities that lie ahead for HomeServe,” said Richard Harpin, chief executive of HomeServe.
“We have stepped up our US growth with the acquisition of Utility Service Partners. We are investing in digital technology and a number of innovation initiatives and we are looking at the potential to open in new countries. Promoting Johnathan to COO gives us extra management bandwidth to ensure we capitalise on these opportunities”
Mr Ford will step down as a non-executive director of Lakehouse with immediate effect.
