Young talent set to battle it out to become Birmingham’s Future Faces

THE shortlist for the competition to find the next generation of Birmingham’s business talent has been announced by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.

Future Faces, is the chamber’s young professionals’ arm. It staged its first awards event last year and the popularity of the contest has seen it renewed for a second year.

The awards are split into five categories – Communications, Entrepreneurship, Industry, Innovation and Professional Services.

The winners will be revealed at the Future Faces annual dinner at Edgbaston Stadium on Friday September 16.

As well as the winners of the five main categories, the Future Faces Ambassador and Venue of the Year awards will also be announced on the night.

Director of membership and business services at the chamber, Russell Jeans, who chaired the judging panel, said: “This year the growth of Future Faces is evident in the high calibre of applications we received which proved to be a challenging task for our judges.”

The nominees were chosen by a judging panel comprising: Russell Jeans, Alan Gilmour, acquisition and retention at Police Mutual, Justice Williams, managing director of Women Who, Mark Gilman, Professor of SME Growth & Development at Birmingham City Business School and Nick Holzherr, CEO of whisk.com.
