A GROUND-BREAKING ceremony has been held at Bromsgrove Street, Birmingham as work began on a student accommodation scheme.
Bromsgrove House will add another 140 studios and apartments in Southside area of the city and is scheduled to be ready for the arrival of students ahead of the 2017-18 academic year.
John Tebbutt, managing director of developer Birmingham Properties Group, said: “This will be our third student development in as many years and we see continued strong demand from both UK and overseas students seeking very high quality accommodation that is located in desirable areas.”
The ceremony was attended by representatives from BPG, Shaylor, DBK Limited and Glenn Howells Architects.

Nick Cross, SDL Bigwood chief executive, Rory Daly of Bigwood, Rob Clifford of Century 21 BigwoodPROPERTY firm Century 21 Bigwood launched its new identity with a drinks event at its Colmore Row office.
The agency, formerly known as CPBigwood Sales & Lettings, is now part of independent property services group SDL Group, which is owned by parent group Century 21, one of the largest residential estate agency organisations in the world. 
The new business was officially launched by SDL chief executive Paul Gratton at the event, which was attended by clients, contacts and intermediaries.

BIRMINGHAM-based Blue Marble Asset Management has re-negotiated the lease on a 20,000 sq ft investment property in the North East.

Acting on behalf of regeneration company CRT Property Investments, Blue Marble has negotiated a new three-year lease on Unit 2, Hall Dene Way in Seaham Grange, County Durham to existing tenant Woodland Global.

Woodland Global is part of the Woodland Group, a logistics supplier to a number of major manufacturers including Proctor and Gamble, Grundfos and many suppliers to Nissan.

Unit 2 was acquired by CRT Property Investments, with the assistance of Blue Marble, as part of the acquisition of two units at Seaham Grange in March 2015.
