Jobs to be created after medical firm’s move

MANUFACTURER Blink Medical is to recruit nine staff after it signed a 20-year lease on new premises in Solihull.
It has taken the 13,400 sq ft unit at Highlands Park, which was marketed with an annual rent of £107,000, making the move from Birmingham Business Park.
The unit is the final speculative phase following the development of 57,000 sq ft which have been sold to a self-storage operator and an electrical wholesaler.
Roger Tyler, founder and managing director of Blink Medical, said: “This new facility will enable us to continue to grow as a business, expanding our product range as well as reducing our lead times to both the NHS and our global distribution network.”
Blink Medical manufactures sterile, single-use surgical instruments which it sells into 20 countries.
Jamie Hockaday, director of developers Graftongate, said: “We were confident that the Solihull area was ready for speculative development and this premium scheme has proven that to be the case. We are delighted to have attracted a company of Blink Medical’s calibre to Highlands Park and look forward to welcoming it to the estate.”
Johnson Fellows, BNP Paribas and CBRE advised on the deal.
