Emma Bridgewater set to create 70 jobs as part of £1m expansion

STOKE-ON-TRENT pottery firm Emma Bridgewater is set for a major expansion as part of a £1m investment programme.

The firm, famous for its colourful spots designs, has opened a new distribution close to its operation in a move set to create 70 new jobs.

The BBC has reported the investment will take place in a series of phases over the next three years.

The new distribution facility, which extends to 38,000 sq ft, will also feature a customer service centre. It is based in Fenton, less than a mile from the firm’s existing factory in Hanley.

The investment is part of a strategy by the firm to expand production by around 40%.

The new jobs will be in a variety of posts including manufacturing, customer service and distribution, as well as seasonal positions.
