Bonfire night 2016: Best events in the West Midlands
WHETHER you’re looking to start or end your bonfire weekend with a bang, we have compiled a list of the biggest and best firework displays to visit across the West Midlands.
Edgbaston Stadium Fireworks Spectacular
Date: Saturday 5th November
Location: Edgbaston Stadium, Edgbaston Road, Birmingham, B5 7QU
Price: Adults £8 – £10 Children £5
Capital FM have teamed up with Edgbaston Stadium this year to bring you the best bonfire night experience with music, entertainment and of course, a large firework display. There will also be an onsite fairground and a selection of hot and cold food and drinks for all the family to enjoy.
The gates and fairground will open at 4pm and the firework show will begin at 7pm.
The Spectacular Kings Heath Fireworks Extravaganza
Date: Sunday 6th November
Location: Kings Heath Cricket and Sports Club, Kings Heath, B14 6DL
Price: Adults £5 Children £2
Kings Heath’s cricket club has been providing family-orientated entertainment on bonfire night ever since 1994 and will continue to do so this year with a firework display, funfair, food stalls, and a beer tent serving real ales! Doors open at 4:30pm and the fireworks will start at 7pm.
Tamworth Castle’s family friendly Fireworks Extravaganza
Date: Saturday 5th November
Location: Tamworth Castle Pleasure Grounds, Tamworth, B79 7NA
Price: Free
The family friendly fun will start at 6pm with fire performers, face painting, a sparkler zone, family activities, food stalls and the fair. This event will be showcasing a 20-minute firework display set to music, starting at 8pm.
Firework Festival
Date: Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th November
Location: West Midlands Safari Park, Bewdley, DY12 1LF
Price: Adult £14 Children £12
These may be at the pricier end, but this includes the firework display, bonfire, late-night rides, themed music, a sea lion show, disco, Twilight Cave, Creepy Crawlies, SeaQuariam, a hog roast and more.
Tickets are selling out fast online, but the safari park state that there are still tickets available on the night.
Annual Bonfire and Fireworks Gala
Date: Saturday 5th November
Location: Kenilworth Castle, Castle Green, Kenilworth, CV8 1NE
Price: Adults £8 Children £3
The Castle’s bonfire and firework gala has grown in popularity over the years and is now well established as one of the largest bonfire events in the Midlands.
The large firework display – which will be set against the backdrop of the stunning castle ruins – is twice the length of typical firework shows with half an hour of sparkling pyrotechnics. There will also be several food stalls and tents throughout the evening and all funds from the evening will go straight back into the community!
