Jaguar Land Rover workers recommended to accept ‘exceptional’ pay deal

SHOP stewards at Jaguar Land Rover have given their support to what they claim is an ‘exceptional pay deal’ for the company’s workforce.

The two-year deal sees a 3.5% increase in salary plus a £750 bonus in year one; and an inflation-proofed retail price index (RPI) plus 0.5% rise in year two.

The terms are being put to more than 22,000 Unite members in a consultative ballot with a strong recommendation to accept.

The deal wold be back-dated to November 1 this year.

The ballot will take place at JLR’s factories in Castle Bromwich, Coventry, Halewood, Solihull and Wolverhampton; closing on Friday November 25.

Unite national officer Roger Maddison said: “This is an exceptional pay deal for an exceptional workforce recognising their skills and continued hard work in making JLR a world-beating carmaker.

“Many of the workers, who will enjoy this industry leading pay deal, made huge sacrifices through the tough times endured by JLR a number of years ago.

“It is only right that they now share in Jaguar Land Rover’s continued success. Unite strongly recommends that members back their shop stewards’ unanimous decision to accept the pay deal.”
