Celebrity chef supplier prepares for growth after relocation

A WORCESTERSHIRE firm selling frying ranges to everyone from celebrity cooks to fish and chip shops is expanding its operations.

Florigo has purchased 4 Centech Park, Fringe Meadow Road, North Moons Moat, Redditch to enable the firm to fulfil its growth potential and relocate from its former base in Colemeadow Road.

The company has said the deal for the 1,489 sq ft premises will result in a number of new jobs being created.

The sale was completed by Redditch property agents John Truslove. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Robert Furey, managing director, Florigo said: “We are looking to grow. Designing and supplying frying ranges we deal with everyone from Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver to your typical corner fish and chip shop.”

The parent business is based in Woerden, in the Netherlands, and it has been making and supplying frying ranges for more than 50 years.

The Redditch firm acts as the company’s UK office and its position at the heart of the country supports its nationwide coverage, which extends to sales enquiries, installations, servicing, parts and back up.

The company’s ranges typically cost in the region of £50,000.

Mr Furey said despite the firm’s ambitions, securing the right premises had not been easy.

However, in line with a strategy to invest in the business, once it had found the right building then it was prepared to adapt it to suit its needs.

“Much of Redditch’s stock is industrial and around 30 years old. We wanted modern offices but we couldn’t find any. So we have gutted this place, stripped it completely, put in new windows and doors in what represents a significant investment,” he said.
