200 jobs at risk as lifting company falls into administration

200 jobs are at risk at Lloyds British Testing, an international business based in Sutton Coldfield.
The lifting equipment specialist, which dates back to 1812, has faced falling revenues and the impact of volatility in the oi and gas markets.
PwC has today confirmed that Michael Denny, David Baxendale and Matthew Hammond have been appointed as joint administrators.
Mr Baxendale said: “We are continuing to trade the business as normal whilst discussions take place with interested parties around a sale. We are working closely with the company employees, customers and suppliers as we seek to achieve a successful outcome for all stakeholders.”
The Company is headquartered in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands and operate 12 sites across the country, employing around 200 staff. The main trading activity is focused on the inspection, certification and repair of lifting equipment.
There are also further trading divisions covering the manufacture of lifting equipment, provision of training services and sale of spare parts.
