Energy company set to create 200 jobs with new call centre

AN independent energy supplier is creating 200 jobs at its Coventry headquarters as it launches a dedicated UK customer contact centre.
Economy Energy is investing £4m in the new facility as part of its commitment to its growing customer base across Britain.
The contact centre, set to open its doors in February next year, will be based in Economy Energy’s existing offices in Friars House.
The expansion will also support the company’s people strategy, providing a modern training facility to develop and nurture its energy team.
The launch of the contact centre is the latest move in series of steps taken to enhance and evolve how the company engages with its customers both directly and through online platforms.
Economy Energy now provides affordable gas and electricity to almost 200,000 customers across Britain.
Martin Stewart, head of operations, said the business would be recruiting for a variety of roles at all levels including customer service agents, team leaders and managers.
“We are at a very exciting stage in the growth of Economy Energy, as we expand our customer numbers across the country,” he said.
“At the heart of this growth is bringing our customers the very best experience at every touchpoint they have with our brand, whether that be online and offline.
“The launch of our new dedicated contact centre is a key pillar of this strategy and will give us the platform to engage and meet the demands of our customers.”
He said the training facility would be vital in supporting career development and ensuring customers received the best advice.
