Comprising of 164 teenagers between the age of 13 and 18 from various parts of the UK, The National Youth Orchestra musicians aim to inspire others with their love and passion for classical music.

Known for its contemporary, accessible performances and programmes, the orchestra will be playing Komarov’s Fall by Brett Dean (2006), Szymanowski’s Symphony No 4 (2013) and Rachmaninov’s Symphony No 2.

Head of artistic programming at Town Hall Symphony Hall, Richard Hawley said: “We want to ensure the classical music ecology for Birmingham remains vibrant and relevant, sponsors opportunity and celebrates diversity.

“We are offering young people the opportunity to see the country’s best musicians perform at Symphony Hall for just a fiver!”

The teenagers, who rehearse and perform at Britain’s most prestigious concert halls and schools will be playing on Friday January 6 and again on Friday August 4.
