RSM poaches new head of corporate tax from city rival

AUDIT, tax and consulting firm RSM has announced a senior appointment at its Birmingham office.

In a demonstration of its ambitions, the firm has poached EY executive director Nick Blundell to be its head of corporate tax.

Mr Blundell joins RSM as a partner after 18 years with EY where he provided tax advice to local PLCs and owner-managed businesses, as well as private equity backed and overseas owned businesses.

Born in Birmingham, Mr Blundell is a law graduate from King’s College London and a chartered accountant.

Mark Taylor, RSM’s office managing partner in Birmingham said: “The corporate tax landscape, particularly for small and middle market companies doing business overseas, is becoming a lot more complex.  We are therefore delighted to welcome Nick to the team who brings experience and expertise which will be invaluable to our clients in Birmingham and across the West Midlands.”

Outside of work, Mr Blundell lives in Worcestershire with his family, is an Aston Villa fan, and enjoys cycling and cookery.
