Interserve scoops schools contracts worth £42m

INTERSERVE, the international services, maintenance and building group, has been awarded three schools contracts – including a major one in Coventry – valued at a total of £42m.

The company will carry out an £8m contract to increase the capacity of four schools for Coventry City Council, a £23m improvement programme for Farnley Park High School, in Leeds, and a further £11m of schools extensions in the Nottinghamshire Construction Framework.

In Coventry, Interserve has been awarded the ‘Increasing Pupil Places 2010/11’ partnering contract to provide additional school places in areas of increased population growth based upon forecasts made by the council.

Classroom extensions at four primary schools will create a total of 735 new pupil places, with the facilities expected to be ready in September 2011.

Interserve’s chief executive Adrian Ringrose said: “It is very rewarding to be responsible for delivering projects such as these that will benefit not just the pupils themselves but also many members of the local community.”
