RLB on winning team for two BCO awards
The Birmingham office of Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is celebrating being part of two winning teams at this year’s BCO Regional Awards for the Midlands.
The awards, run by the British Council for Offices, recognise exemplary design and functional excellence in workplaces and both winning projects will now go forward to compete in their categories at the BCO National Awards in October.
Winning the award for the best corporate workplace was the remodelled and refurbished Wolverhampton national headquarters office of brewery and pub retailing business, Marston’s PLC. RLB has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with this business, working on Marston’s national new build family restaurant and hotel roll-out programme, providing a bespoke suite of site acquisition project management services. As part of the team working on the headquarters building, RLB provided pre-contract project management and acted as post-contract employer’s agent.
The second award went to Energy Systems Catapult for the best fit-out of a workplace at its premises in central Birmingham. Part of a network of technology and innovation centres, the Catapult works with companies focused on exploiting the opportunities created by the need to transform global energy systems. Moving into recently refurbished city centre office space, the Catapult looked to its fit out to create a collaborative working environment reflecting its ethos and incorporating a wide range of energy-saving features. On this project, RLB provided project management and quantity surveying services.
