LSL announces NED arrival and departure

ESTATE agency group LSL, which owns the Your Move and Reeds Rains chains has appointed Mark Pain as non-executive director (NED) as chair of its remuneration committee.

The group also confirmed the resignation of NED Mark Warburton. Both the appointment and departure are effective on July 1.

Mr Warburton has been a member of the LSL board since its flotation in 2006 and is leaving to pursue other interests.

Mr Pain brings “significant plc” experience in both property and financial services sectors and joins from Barratt Developments where is he group finance director.

Previously, he held a number of senior positions at Abbey National including group finance director between 1998 and 2001.

He also a NED of Punch Taverns and Johnston Press.

Roger Matthews, chairman of LSL, said: “”We are delighted that Mark Pain has agreed to join the board and we are confident that his over 20 years of experience in the property and financial services sectors will add significant value to LSL.

“The board has benefited from Mark Warburton’s experience and contribution since our listing and we wish him all the best with his future ventures.”

Earlier this year the group said it had been trading “slightly better” than expectations.

The group saw turnover in the three months to March down 28% from a year ago with turnover in its estate agency and financial services business down 32% year-on-year and surveying turnover down 25%.
