Appointments: Chairman role for Madeley; Operations director for Grontmij; and more

EMERGING IT firm Kaleton has appointed Yorkshire businessman Keith Madeley as chairman.
He joins the Tadcaster-based company as it sets out to expand within the region’s nursing and care home sector.
The Bradford-born businessman was recognised in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list for service to the communities of Yorkshire.
Mr Madeley is currently chairman of The Prince’s Trust for Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Society and the Duke of York’s Community Initiative.
“Kaleton is a young, exciting company with great growth potential,” he said.
”Kaleton’s expanding portfolio of IT, software and internet services is rapidly establishing the company in the nursing and care home sector.

ENGINEERING consultancy Grontmij has taken on Blair Mitchell as operations director and profit centre manager for the Leeds Water team.
Mr Mitchell joins Grontmij from Scottish Water, where he was head of delivery, playing a leading role in the delivery of their capital investment programme and the development of a new joint venture to deliver part of Scottish Water’s future capital investment programme.
He brings with him 20 years experience in working across the operational, asset management and capital delivery sectors in Scottish Water.
As part of Mr Mitchell’s new role, based in the Leeds office, he will be responsible for developing and leading the Leeds Water team in the securing and delivery of work expected from recent framework wins.
His focus will also be on delivering existing work for Severn Trent Water, the Ministry of Defence and United Utilities.

LEGAL recruitment consultancy BCL Legal, which has offices in Leeds, has made a key appointment within its fee earning consultant team in Yorkshire
Tom Fleet has over eight years experience as a legal recruiter and will be placing solicitors and company secretaries in businesses across Yorkshire and the North East.
Prior to joining BCL Legal, he worked for the in-house legal team of one of the largest professional services recruitment companies in the UK, with the remit of placing lawyers into the FMCG, manufacturing, media and utilities sectors across London and the South East.
In 2004, he set up its in-house legal function in the North, and latterly specialised in recruiting commercial lawyers into private practice across Yorkshire and the North East.
