Experience shows as DHP promotes and recruits

YORKSHIRE chartered surveyors and property consultants Dove Haigh Phillips is defying the downturn by strengthening its team.

The Leeds-based company has appointed consultant Peter Roe and promoted Mark Nicholson.

Mr Roe, who was previously with Knight Frank in Leeds, will look after building surveying at Dove Haigh Phillips, while Mr Nicholson, a specialist in industrial and commercial agency, becomes an associate.

Winning team: (l-r) Mike Haigh, Peter Roe, Mark Nicholson, Jonathan Phillips, Yvonne Stringer, Julie Gordon and Mike Dove.

Mike Dove, partner of Dove Haigh Phillips, said: “These appointments underline the strength of our firm in a challenging property market.

“Both Peter and Mark are highly-motivated and talented individuals who add to value and expertise within our focused, seven-strong team”.

Dove Haigh Phillips, which was founded three years ago by Mike Dove, Mike Haigh and Jonathan Phillips, all previously partners at Knight Frank in Leeds, has established itself as a successful niche player in the Yorkshire property market and supports a string of clients.

Mr Dove said: “Our clients include Thornhill Estates, one of Yorkshire oldest and largest landowners; major occupiers including Findel, Yule Catto, FMG Support, and the HI Group.

“Our international based clients include Dresser Inc and Hallmark Cards of the United States, Teva Pharmaceutical Group, Swiss-based Syngenta and Wavin from Holland.

“Meanwhile our development clients include ProLogis, Strategic Sites, Keyland, Barwood, GMI, Shepherd Developments and Elland Developments.”

Other major work includes handling more than 1.5m sq ft of transactions for ProLogis and more than 120,000 sq ft of acquisitions for Findel education, FMG Support and Gamestec.

Partner Mr Haigh said: “When we started three years, our aim was to provide quality, focussed advice. This would fill a gap at the top end of the commercial property market in Yorkshire and the north of England.

“Crucially, we believe we have done this, providing the bespoke service that our clients need. We provide the access to key decision makers, we spot commercial opportunities that pass others by and we originate creative solutions for commercial property deals.”

He added: “When we started we said delivery was the key. We believe strongly we have delivered, even in these difficult recessionary times.”

Mr Dove is a specialist in commercial real estate and strategic development, Mr Haigh is a leading industrial and commercial property agent, while Mr Phillips is an acknowledged expert on property valuations and investment funding.

Dove Haigh Phillips has re-launched its website as part of its development plan which can be visited at www.dhp.org.uk.
