Brandzoo benefits from cash boost

BRANDZOO, a full service licensing agency in Bradford, is gearing up for expansion after securing £125,000 investment from Partnership Investment Finance (PIF).

The company creates, manages and exploits the licensing potential of brands, working with major blue chip companies and television companies.

Recent successes include the Grandpa in My Pocket TV programme, the Moody Little Madams and Urban Football clothing ranges available at George in Asda and the management of the MOBO brand.

The investment will help the company develop high profile brands created externally in addition to the brand concepts developed internally.

Brandzoo was founded by Brian Tottman along with directors Jenny Johnstone, who has 15 years experience working on properties like Pepsi, James Bond and Power Rangers, and David McGowan – a brand designer and developer who has launched brands like Kooga and Umbro.

Managing director Ms Johnstone said the investment would have a significant impact on the company.

“We manage a number of high profile brands and we need the flexibility to respond to the market when the timing is right.

“The investment will help us make the most of opportunities so we can take advantage of these brands across a variety of media and retail platforms.”

She said that as well as attracting new business from established brands the business was also looking to develop its existing brands across Europe, North and South America.

Paul Betts, PIF investment manager, said: “The investment shows our backing of the management team who all have a track record in spotting good opportunities and working with blue chip companies.

“Although this is a relatively new venture, Brandzoo has a number of significant successes to its name and I am sure this will continue.”

PIF is an investment fund aimed at supporting growing businesses in Yorkshire. It aims to encourage enterprise and economic regeneration by providing loans to eligible businesses in the region’s Objective 2 areas.
