Filtronic appoints new CFO

FILTRONIC, the Shipley-based wireless communications firm, has appointed Mike Brennan as chief financial officer.

Mr Brennan will replace Stephen Mole, who still step down from the role at the end of September.

His successor was previously finance director at GTL Resources. Earlier in his career, Mr Brennan held a number of financial roles with Petroplus Refining Teesside and various ICI businesses.

Last month Filtronic announced that it had received its first order from SELEX Airborne Systems under a long-term strategic supply agreement.

The group has undergone a significant restructuring in the past few years with the disposal of much of the company.

It sold its UK and Australian defence electronics business to Teledyne last August and is now purely focused on point-to-point telecoms operations.
