Downs Surgical leads key Middle East conference

A PRESTIGIOUS international Ear Nose Throat (ENT) conference co-organised by Sheffield firm Downs Surgical will unite top surgeons from across the Middle East and help share clinical excellence worldwide.

The Egypt event, which sees Downs Surgical work with The Royal College of Surgeons of England, will act as a platform for leading surgeons to discuss and exchange clinical experiences in the interest of providing the best possible care for their patients.

There will also be a generous sharing of expertise between faculty and delegates, an element which is crucial for both surgeons and surgical innovators.

The problems managed by an ENT specialist are vast and cover a range of issues from treating facial deformities, hearing and balance problems, snoring, voice and swallowing disorders, to fighting the increasing number of oral cancers related to smoking and drinking.

This is the second ENT conference to have been held in Egypt and the location was chosen because of Downs Surgical’s strong links within the country.

Steve Spurgin, international business manager at Downs Surgical, said: “By working closely with the prestigious organisation such as The Royal College of Surgeons of England we can gain a deeper understanding of the needs of surgeons, understand their requirements, and in turn use this knowledge to develop new and unique solutions that satisfy their needs at every level.

“It is crucial that cutting edge innovations are continually being developed and, more importantly, the people inventing these technologies understand the needs of both surgeons and patients.”

The event will take place between from November 11 to 12 at The Ritz Carlton in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
