Golf company drives forward with funding

THE creators of a new way to play golf have secured a £262,500 investment to help it drive forward its growth plans.

Bingley-based Net60Six enables golfers to play a round of golf in just an hour without costly membership fees or being tied into a specific club, making it accessible to a wider audience.

New or experienced players can now play a ’round of golf’ on a driving range by hitting to targets set out in front of them, with their scores recorded on in bay scoring tablets and wirelessly uploaded to the internet golf club www.net60six.com.

With the backing of experts such as ex-Ryder Cup captain and star of the PGA seniors tour Mark James, the system uses hand-held PDAs and phones with live scoring technology which allows games to be played by single or amongst multiple players.

Craig Higgs, managing director of the Bingley-based company, said: “The introduction to Connect Yorkshire’s Programme was invaluable.

“The investment we raised has assisted us in moving forward with our plans – Connect Yorkshire’s help came at an important time, helping fund the legal process and facilitated our growth.”

Connect Yorkshire’s programme manager Andy Chaffer added: “Connect’s programme is designed to help high growth businesses requiring finance by matching them with approved and professionally qualified coaches.

“We are delighted to have played a role in bringing this significant new investment to a local company.”
