‘Hot’ deal for Home Marketing Group

YORKSHIRE-based Home Marketing Group has acquired brand design consultancy Chilli UK is a deal that will boost its turnover to more than £9m.

Home Marketing has bought a majority share in Otley-based Chilli UK as part of a wider strategy to provide clients with a more complete marketing services offering.

Chilli UK will join other specialist agencies across Leeds-based Home Marketing’s portfolio of businesses including online search and social media (homejames), web development and build agency (homepage), point of sale display specialist (The Solution House) and main advertising agency – Home.

It said the move would enhance hôme Marketing Group’s capability across the board while Chilli UK clients would benefit from a wider range of marketing services, particularly in the digital sector.

Chilli UK clients include McVities, Butterkist, Denby, Lakeland and Skinny Cow.

Home’s clients include brands such as Jet2.com, Russell Hobbs, Belling, Party Poker and Holland’s Pies.

Dave Sewards, chief executive of hôme Marketing Group, said, “Chilli is a supremely talented and respected brand design consultancy and this move completes the agency’s full complement of specialist services.

“We knew of it by reputation but on meeting the team we were blown away by the quality of their work and attitude. They’re also great people who will fit in really well at home.”

Chilli UK will continue to operate under the same brand name and Andy Heap and David Whittle will continue in their roles as joint managing directors.

They will be joined on the board by Mr Sewards and one of the other Home founding partners Rich Marson.

The Chilli UK team of 15 staff will remain for the moment in their existing offices but will join the Home group next year.

Legal completion was handled by Irwin Mitchell.
