BGF takes stake in exploration business

Exploration business Getech has announced that BGF has taken a stake in the business as it looks to its next stage of growth.
The Leeds-based business, which provides geoscience and geospatial products and services to a variety of companies and governments, which they use to de-risk their exploration programmes and improve their management of natural resources, said that BGF now has an equity interest in the company, holding 10.13% of its issued share capital.
The move sees BGF join intellectual property business IP Group as an investor.
Following a sale of shares, IP Group now holds 11% of Getech’s issued share capital.
Jonathan Copus, CEO of the Getech Group, said: “We are pleased to welcome BGF as a significant shareholder in Getech. Focused on small and medium sized growth businesses, BGF positions its investments to provide equity capital to help management teams in the execution of their strategic plans.
“With BGF and IP Group now both significant investors in Getech, we consider their support to further strengthen our position as we work to deliver the next phase of Getech’s growth – our strategy being to use our geoscience and geospatial skills to target high-margin repeat-revenue opportunities, through the organic and acquisitional expansion of our portfolio of essential software, data, and information products.”
