Consultation on former treatment works site to begin

A public consultation event is being held today to open discussions about the future of land surrounding the Esholt Water Treatment Works in West Yorkshire.

As a result of new technology, the operational footprint of the Yorkshire Water Esholt Water Treatment Works has reduced significantly over recent years, leaving large areas of formerly operational land redundant and unused.

Yorkshire Water and Keyland Developments, the property trading arm of Kelda Group and sister company to Yorkshire Water, have assembled a team to generate ideas for the future use of the areas of vacant land and has commenced engagement with the local public and key stakeholders to canvass opinion.

Two consultation events are being held at the Esholt Sports and Leisure Club on Esholt Lane in Shipley. One will be held today between 2pm and 6pm and a second on 18 July, 2pm and 6pm.

Both events will include a short presentation, followed by round table workshops.
