Developer confirms ambitious growth plans for Yorkshire

Countryside, a home builder specialising in placemaking and regeneration, is set to embark on a pipeline of housing investment across Yorkshire as it launches its new premises at Thorpe Park in Leeds.
The office opening marks a major step forward in the housebuilder’s strategy to invest in new mixed-tenure developments across Yorkshire, supporting the region’s need for an estimated 18,000 new homes per year.

Home to an expanding team of 60, Countryside’s new office boasts a capacity for 90 with additional teams to be located on development sites across the region, including the current construction of 270 new homes in Sherburn-in-Elmet on behalf of Yorkshire Housing.
Over the past year, Countryside has had over 5,700 home completions across 137 sites in locations across London, the South East, the North of England and the Midlands.
Christopher Penn, regional operations director, Partnerships Yorkshire, Countryside, said: “Countryside has a very proud heritage in creating brand new developments that are built around quality, affordability and a commitment to invest in communities.
“Our business is focused on creating places people love and this ethos is about much more than building houses; we build homes, knitted together with carefully planned street scenes and landscaping to create established neighbourhoods for our buyers.
“As is the case for much of the UK, Yorkshire has an urgent need for new housing.
We look forward to expanding our investment across Yorkshire and to forming new partnerships with the region’s industry leaders to support this rising demand with more and better homes for local people.”
