144 home development to be launched this spring
Construction is underway at a housing development in Thorpe Hesley, South Yorkshire, ahead of its official launch this spring.
Jones Homes is building 144 new homes on land off Upper Wortley Road, just south of the village centre.
The development, to be known as Wentworth View, will include a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties. A total of 108 homes will be made available for private sale, with the remaining 36 being provided as affordable housing, including 14 starter homes which will be set aside for first-time buyers who meet qualifying criteria and will be available to buy at a discounted price.
A large area of public open space with a play area will be created at the northern end of the site, while there will also be smaller pockets of landscaped open space dotted throughout the development.
As part of the planning agreement for Wentworth View, Jones Homes will inject almost £725,000 into the local community, including contributions of £250,000 towards education, £72,000 towards sustainable travel and around £400,000 in the form of a Community Infrastructure Levy.
The development’s sales and information centre is set to open to visitors this April and the first homes are due to be completed in late 2020.
