Doncaster-based property consultancy group, Barnsdales, has been appointed the new property and facilities manager of logistics hub, iPort.

iPort is an advanced multimodal logistics hub, helping companies such as Amazon, CEVA, Fellowes, Lidl, Maritime Transport, Woodland Group and Kingsbury Press distribute goods across the UK.

Barnsdales will play a key role in ensuring the continued growth and success of the hub, which will boast more than six million sq ft of logistics space when completed, supporting up to 5,000 jobs.

Barnsdales Property Consultants will act as property managers and sister company, Barnsdales FM will provide facilities management support for all existing properties on the site.

Jason Barnsdale, managing director, said: “This instruction is really exciting for us. As a family-owned company that’s based in Doncaster, it’s a great honour to have been selected to take on property management of this site which plays such an important role in our local economy and community.

“We’ve been awarded several large instructions in recent years as we’ve grown nationally and locally in the South Yorkshire area.

“iPort is an amazing site, and property management plays a crucial role in its success. As a local business, we’ll be very hands-on, working with the businesses based here to ensure the real estate assets perform as needed.

Simon Walter, director of asset management at Verdion, which is responsible for iPort said: “Effective property management is central to iPort’s long term success.

“As a thriving, user friendly and practical base for our occupiers, it’s crucial that we have a strong team in place.

“We’re very pleased to appoint Barnsdales as our property and facilities managers and to welcome another local company to the site.”
