Real estate services business relocates to new office base

Following the completion of a fit-out, Avison Young has moved to its new office on the sixth floor of 1 City Square in Leeds, with effect from 1 November 2021.
The 50-strong Leeds office has used the move as an opportunity to reduce operational costs by over £150,000 per annum through an efficient and agile working design model.
Claire Paraskeva, regional managing director of the Leeds office, said: “The pandemic has shown us what we can achieve in terms of hybrid working and has allowed us to formulate a new accommodation model that satisfies all requirements, both collaborative and sole working.
“1 City square is the ideal, super prime location for us to elevate our brand.
“We have optimised our space utilisation and reduced our accommodation overheads, which has allowed us to invest in a high-quality, inspiring fit-out for our staff.
“It is the ideal way to encourage people back into the office and take advantage of the many benefits working alongside colleagues can bring.”
The firm’s new office offers zones for different styles of working, including collaboration areas, break out booths, traditional desk space and client lounges, ensuring the space provides a variety of settings to accommodate different activities throughout the working day.
Andrew Rogers, director of Avison Young’s building consultancy team, project managed the design and build of the fit-out.
He said: “I’m proud to have been a part of the team that delivered this space and the new environment we have created for our staff.
“Our new home is a place to work, but also to engage and socialise with each other and we’re really looking forward to welcoming colleagues and clients back to enjoy it with us.”
Helen Gelsthorpe, associate director within the business rates team, added: “Our new office has lots of great spaces for collaborative working that are both eye-catching and functional. It is an expression of who we are and we can’t wait to show it off.”
