Group broadens product range by acquiring specialist manufacturer

A Yorkshire company which designs and manufactures gas analysers for military and commercial users has been sold.

Analox Ltd was founded by Alan Harbottle in 1981 and has a manufacturing facility in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, and a US sales office in Huntington Beach, California.

It has been acquired by Ion Science Holdings Ltd, following approval of the transaction by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Secretary of State.

Ion Science Group is headquartered in Fowlmere, Cambridgeshire with regional offices in the USA, India, China and throughout Europe.

It manufactures a technologically advanced range of gas and leak detectors for a wide variety of gases.

Group CEO of Ion Science, Duncan Johns, said: “The acquisition of Analox Ltd and its management and technical teams significantly broadens the Group’s scientific bandwidth and product offering; we are happy to welcome Analox into the Ion Science family.”

Managing director of Analox, Emma Harbottle, added: “Joining the Ion Science Group is a natural next step for Analox and I am looking forward to working with Duncan and his team as we continue to build the enlarged group’s worldwide revenues.”

The shareholders of Analox were advised by Hardy Transaction Management Ltd (Paul Hardy, lead advisor) and by TE Solicitors (Rob Moore and Grace Draycott).
