72-home retirement development nears completion

Adlington Retirement Living’s latest community in Menston, near Ilkley, is due to complete and be ready for homeowners to move into this spring.
The development has been called The Spindles and Yorkshire estate agent, Dacre, Son & Hartley has been appointed as preferred estate agent.
The Spindles occupies the site of the former Hare & Hounds pub, and the four-storey building offers 72 one, two and three-bedroom apartments for the over 60s, set in landscaped grounds.
On-site amenities include a restaurant, cinema room, activities studio, a guest suite, hair salon, therapy suite and homeowners’ lounge.
Dale Johnson, from Adlington Retirement Living, said: “We always work hard at every development to nurture a community spirit, whilst promoting independence and individual respect.
“Our developments offer homes that are built and finished to the highest standard and give homeowners the chance to become part of a thriving community of like-minded people, and The Spindles will epitomise this ethos.”
Lesley Shakeshaft, who heads Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Burley in Wharfedale office, said: “After the scaffolding was removed recently, the local community have had the chance to see how The Spindles is set to become a landmark building for Menston and this has really stirred interest in the development.”
