Leisure vehicles puts manufacturer in driving seat for growth

The manufacturer of electric-powered leisure vehicles is plugging into the popularity of staycations to drive sales above £1m for the first time.

Holmfirth-based Aqualand Industries designs and manufactures the six-wheeled Crazi-bugz and Adventure Trukz for leisure companies across the UK.

Carl Byford, general manager of Aqualand Industries, said: “There is a global market for our leisure vehicles, and we will continue to ramp up production capacity in our Yorkshire manufacturing facility.”

Aqualand expects further growth as it plans to expand its product range to meet customer demand and seeks export growth. It owns a number of patents for leisure vehicles, including a motorised surfboard.

“We’ve placed innovation and advanced engineering at the heart of our business,” added Byford.

“We set out to become a revenue-generation partner and a one-stop shop for the leisure industry.

“It’s an approach that has attracted an enviable client list of holiday and theme parks, along with campsites and country houses that are seeking new ways of driving additional revenue and keeping young people entertained.”
