Storage and removals firm makes room for expansion

Removals and storage provider, Shipley-based George Pickersgill and Sons Ltd, has acquired a new warehouse and office space to accommodate its growing storage needs.
The newly acquired space, in Hirstwood Industrial Estate, provides an additional 1,000 sq ft, increasing the total storage capacity to 12,500 sq ft available through the business.
It enables the company to accommodate growing demand across domestic and commercial storage requirements.
The new facility, due to officially open in March 2024, will accommodate a further 80 storage containers along with new office space, on top of the already available 600 containers in the current warehouse.
Ciaran Mullarkey, director, said: “We are thrilled to secure this additional space so close to our current warehouse; it seriously strengthens our storage capabilities.
“The acquisition of this facility reflects our commitment to providing our customers with the best storage solutions possible, that offer flexibility in size, duration and best in class security. Our clients can trust that their belongings are safe and secure with us.”
The business is experiencing increasing demand from customers requesting short or long-term storage options for a variety of reasons, including home renovations, decluttering, downsizing, or relocations.
Mullarkey added: “It’s not just domestic customers that we cater for, throughout the last 10 years, we’ve worked closely with local businesses to provide dry and secure storage and warehousing space; from flat pack kitchens, white goods through to electricals and furniture.
“We are excited to expand our operations in this area and continue to support local businesses.”
