Flood alleviation scheme to protect hundreds of homes

Government cash will go towards flood alleviation work in West Yorkshire.

The Brighouse Flood Alleviation Scheme will receive £5m to help protect 414 homes.

The government says this “flagship” project is part of a record £2.65bn two-year investment to protect UK communities from flooding.

In total, over 1,000 schemes across the country will help protect 52,000 more homes and businesses.
