Nine-figure deal secured by recycling and waste management firm

Harrogate-based independent recycling and waste management company, Clearpoint Recycling, has secured a “landmark” nine-figure contract with Cheshire-based, specialist polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycler, Enviroo.

The exclusive agreement will see Clearpoint Recycling support the supply of material to Enviroo’s, waste plastics recycling plant at Ellesmere Port.

Clearpoint Recycling will deliver 35,000 tonnes of PET material each year, when the facility opens in 2027, which will convert PET waste into certified food-grade recycled PET (rPET) to meet the growing demand in the global market.

The deal is designed to not only strengthens the UK’s recycling infrastructure, but also support the implementation of the Governments Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), ensuring a robust supply chain for recovered PET bottles.

The five-year contract is also set to create more highly skilled jobs.

Founded in 2012, Clearpoint Recycling works directly with a number of Yorkshire-based companies, including Yorwaste and H W Martin Waste Ltd to find effective routes to market for recovered recyclable materials.
