Hotel group says £1m refurbishment will capture returning market

QHOTELS has kick started the year by investing more than £1.1m on four of its leading hotels including The Queens in Leeds and Tankersley Manor in Sheffield.
The investment has seen the iconic Queens Hotel benefit from £500,000 refurbishment including the creation of the city’s first ever dedicated executive floor.
The aptly named QClub will boast 18 executive guest rooms and suites, two of which have individual terraces, and exclusive access to an executive lounge with complimentary bar.
Guests can enjoy breakfast from the lounge, browse the internet, catch-up on work or the watch the latest news.
Seventeenth century Tankersley Manor has also enjoyed a £200,000 ‘soft refurbishment’ incorporating its lounge, reception, restaurant and 30 of its guest rooms and suites.
The work follows a £2m renovation of the meetings and events facilities last year.
QHotels Stratford Manor in Straford-upon-Avon and Chesford Grange in Warwickshire have also undergone a transformation including a brand new event space for Chesford Grange.
Michael Purtill, QHotels managing director, said: “We are certainly starting to see signs that the conference and meetings market is on the road to recovery, and we appreciate the importance of continued investment and advancement.
“We pride ourselves in our evolving and progressive reputation and will continue to demonstrate this throughout 2010.”
Yorkshire-based QHotels was founded in 2003 and has gone from two hotels to a portfolio of 21 in just six years.
