Raithwaite Hall opens its doors

YORKSHIRE’S tourism sector has been given a boost following the opening of a £30m luxury hotel.
The 45 bedroom Raithwaite Hall Country Retreat is located at Sandsend, near Whitby in North Yorkshire.
Owned and developed by York-based property company Skelwith Group, Raithwaite Hall is set within 80 acres of countryside on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
The hotel is set to create 100 jobs and use regional suppliers, which it claims will help to boost the Yorkshire economy.
Richard Mansell, general manager at Raithwaite Hall, said: “We are excited to have the opportunity to serve our community and visitors to Whitby. Our team of service professionals are eager to create memorable and personalised service for all in great surroundings.
The hotel boasts its Brace Restaurant and Grill, as well as the Spa at Raithwaite.
Gary Verity, chief executive of tourism body Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “Raithwaite Hall is going to be a great asset to the county and the hotel will also be a terrific base for visitors wishing to explore the rest of the county.
“Yorkshire already has one of the strongest tourism economies in the country and Raithwaite Hall really adds to what we have to offer our visitors.”
Major interior contractor DEPA, which has worked on the Savoy Hotel in London and the world’s tallest tower, Dubai’s Burj Al Khalifa, was responsible for developing Raithwaite Hall’s interiors.
