Cohen Cramer launches growth plan

YORKSHIRE law firm Cohen Cramer has launched a plan to grow by a quarter.

The ambitious Leeds firm has announced that it is planning further expansion following on from a successful 12 months, in which time fee income grew by 15%.

It has appointed accountants and business advisers Baker Tilly to provide strategic, audit and tax advice.

Established 30 years ago, Cohen Cramer Solicitors is now one of the UK’s largest suppliers of legal services to the dental profession, specialising in advising practitioners through the complex process of acquiring and disposing of their own dental practice.

The 10-strong partner business relocated to new premises on Great George’s Street 12 months ago and employs 76 people.

Cohen Cramer offers a range of litigation services to both businesses and individuals aswell as providing legal advice to dentists.

The firm is also targeting growth within its sports, media and entertainment unit.

This specialist division, trading as FrontRow Legal, was established following the merger last year with Cramer Solicitors.

John Grant, managing partner at Cohen Cramer, said: “Our strategy to offer a broad mix of general and specialist services is paying off. We’ve bucked the trend in the legal sector over the last 12 months and we’re confident that this will continue.”

Mike Jackson, partner and head of Baker Tilly’s professional practices group in Leeds, said: “Cohen Cramer has performed strongly during a period of unprecedented change and uncertainty for the legal profession and the economy as a whole.

“Its merger with Cramer last year provides it with another offering in a niche area which I’m confident it will be able to build on.”
