New contract as Clyde seeks to expand

CLYDE Process Solutions has won a £1m contract to supply a leading PVC manufacturer in the US and signalled its intention to expand in the petrochemicals market with a new appointment.
The deal for the Doncaster-based firm will see it supply the customer with vacuum unloading and pneumatic conveying systems as part of an expansion of a production facility in Texas.
Clyde also announced this morning that it had recruited Jan van Bakergem to the position of director of petrochemicals as it seeks to expand further into this market.
Alex Stewart, chief executive of Clyde Process Solutions, said: “We have identified the petrochemicals market as one that could deliver significant growth for our group in the coming years and I am delighted to have secured this order with an existing customer, which is in line with management expectations.
“I am also very pleased to welcome Jan to our team. Jan is an extremely experienced and successful senior executive in the petrochemicals market and will play an integral role in the global development of our strategy in this industry.
“Jan’s key objectives will be to further penetrate this global market through the development of our technology, routes to market and relationships with key partners and producers.”
The company said Mr van Bakergem, who has held senior positions on matertial handling technology firms supplying this area, would lead the firm’s petrochemicals strategy from its North American operations.
