Sub-zero success for Huddersfield manufacturer

A HUDDERSFIELD firm has proved that even extreme temperatures can’t cool it’s thirst for a challenge.

Woodcock & Wilson has successfully designed an industrial fan specifically for use in extreme low temperature environments.

Its engineers spent more than four months developing the fan, which can keep operating efficiently even when temperatures are as low as minus 50 degrees Centigrade.

Four of the fans have now been shipped to the far reaches of Siberia and Canada for use by companies involved in the oil industry.

Mark Jones, Woodcock & Wilson’s managing director said:

“It has been a challenging few months for our design engineers to develop and manufacture the fan which continues to work efficiently and effectively at such low temperatures.

“The project has further enhanced our reputation for manufacturing innovative fans and be at the forefront of customer’s requirements.”

Established for 35 years, Woodcock & Wilson manufactures both centrifugal and axial fan designs for an extensive range of applications including heating and ventilation, air pollution control, petro-chemical, offshore and process engineering.
