THE Clothiers Arms in Netherthong, West Yorkshire, has reopened following a £65,000 refurbishment between the new tenants and owners Thwaites.
Long-term friends Aiden and Kerry Weir and Karen and Mark Morrison took over the pub in August this year. The foursome will run the pub, which is owned by brewer Thwaites, alongside their day-to-day jobs.
Mrs Weir said: “The Clothiers Arms isn’t just a pub to Netherthong, it is central to our community. Having lived here for over twenty years, we were disappointed to see the custom and community dwindling away.
“We decided to join forces with Thwaites to make the pub a place that the community can be proud of, and we’re sure that this refurbishment will re-establish the pub as the heart of Netherthong.”
