PR, Marketing and HR Appointments: Creative agency appoints; former Asda man joins Yorkshire Water and more

A round-up of the week’s PR, Marketing and HR appointments.
A LEEDS creative agency is celebrating further expansion with two new appointments.
ICM Creative Communications, which specialises in branding, has grown its team to sixteen on the back of new business wins.
Account manager Marian Arnold joined from Spiral Communications, while Sally Brooks takes up her first post in the creative industry as a junior account executive
Caroline Airton, account director at ICM Creative Communications, said: “Expanding our client management team is key to accelerating our growth. We are putting in place the structure to manage and support the increased workload.”
The marketing and branding company, whose clients include Bupa Care Services and Superbreak, is also seeking further growth through acquisition, particularly in the area of web design expertise.

THE former managing director of Beattie Communications in Leeds, Deborah Hastie has left to set up her own PR Agency – GEM Public Relations.
Ms Hastie leaves after seven years with the national agency, establishing and running its northern division, headquartered in Leeds.
The former journalist previously worked for The Press Association in its online division launching the world’s first virtual online newsreader Ananova.com, which was subsequently sold for £95m to Orange.
She also worked for Next as an Internal communications manager and spent three years as a media relations officer with West Yorkshire Police.

YORKSHIRE Water’s external communications team has appointed Matt Thompson as media relations advisor.
Mr Thompson joins the company from Leeds-based supermarket giant ASDA, where he was PR manager for general merchandise, playing a key role in raising awareness of the company’s non-food offering.
Before that, he was PR account manager in the Leeds office of Trimedia UK, where he was responsible for developing and executing campaigns for clients such as McDonald’s, Eversheds LLP and York Archaeological Trust.
He was also part of the team that picked up the ‘Outstanding Consultancy of the Year’ award at last year’s Yorkshire and Lincolnshire CIPR awards.
