Casino launches with a bang

BOLLYWOOD dancers, stilt walkers, and showgirls were all on hand to celebrate the launch of  Alea Casino Leeds, the £13m entertainment venue located on Clarence Dock.

Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the launch with a ‘Vegas style’ evening featuring live entertainment compared by Galaxy presenter Jo Jo with sets from Dave Kelly and Jamie Bull.

Set over four floors of dramatic design, the venue has six bars, two restaurants, a private cinema, two luxury gaming floors, a private poker room and events space.

The casino has 17 gaming tables, including Punto Banco, blackjack, roulette and poker, as well as slot machines and electronic roulette machines.

Alea Casino Leeds will be managed by venue director, Andy Orr who also oversees operations at Manchester’s famous 235 casino.

Mr Orr said: “I’m confident that Alea Casino Leeds is going to be a huge boost for the city, offering an entirely new entertainment experience! Due to our open door policy, we are able to offer something for everyone – from a romantic dinner for two, a night of live music or a game of poker with friends, I’m confident that Leeds’ people and those visiting the city will really take to Alea and all that the venue has to offer.

“To be heading up such a major venue is an exciting challenge but I’m confident that with the great team we have working here, Alea will be a real success.”
